With the S-status refugees from Ukraine are allowed to work in Sweden. Migrationsverket (the Swedish Migration Board) provides helpful information for Swedish employers.

What is required of employers who want to employ refugees from Ukraine?

• A decision on a work permit
• Coordination number for the applicant

Please note:

It is a criminal offense for employers to employ third-country nationals who do not have a work permit. Therefore, it is important that we as employers control the individual's right to work in Sweden. The individual must be able to present a decision on a work permit from the Migrationsverket. For more information on employment of third-country citizens, please visit Skatteverket (the Swedish Tax Agency).
